Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF)
The U.S. government requires that 100 percent of cargo transported by passenger, freighter, and charter aircraft be screened at the “piece” level before loading. This ensures safety and security in aviation. Trust CTS to handle this efficiently.

The TSA created the Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (CCSF) program to improve the speed and efficiency of the pivotal security aspect of the global supply chain.
CCSF is an extension of the TSA’s Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP), which was created to screen all cargo passing through airports. Learn more at TSA.gov(Opens in a new window).

The TSA mandates that all certified cargo screening facilities, including CTS’s facility at JFK, implement a TSA-approved security program and follow strict chain of custody protocols from screening to aircraft placement.
CCSP/CCSF must ensure cargo integrity, allow onsite validations and inspections, and screen items individually rather than by pallets. Facilities that can apply include manufacturers, warehouses, distribution centers, third-party logistics providers, indirect air carriers, airport cargo handlers, and independent screening facilities.
TSA security inspectors oversee the application and certification process, with over 500 cargo inspectors ensuring compliance for all cargo on flights from the U.S.
-
When necessary, an AIT TSA-certified cargo screening facility can provide Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), physical search and use of TSA canines.
